Well, the diaper looks fine, but little Mikey's butt sure is red. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ ~~~~~~~~~~~~ Hello, all- I thought I was being tasteful and humble by announcing my new one in the subject line of a message in the great- pun off thread... But it turns out I was being too shy with my news. So here he is, our new little clown! Michael "Mikey" James, born on Saturday, April 26, 2008, 8 pounds and 6 ounces, 21.5 inches long... He's a generally low- maintenance (some might say "perfect") baby, and will make cute squeaky noises for a while if he's hungry and uncomfortable, rarely escalating to a full- out cry- and even then, it's not the angry cry I've heard from some other babies- his cry is pretty cute, I think. He's had his days and nights figured out from the start (but then, his brother and sister are noisy all day long, who could forget?) - and is gradually spending a little more time alert after each feeding during the day, each day... His belly button stump fell off yesterday, and I swear he smiles at me even though that's not technically said to be possible yet. He's cuddly- he loves to be held and rocked- but not too demanding, he'll settle for time in the swing, swaddled in a warm blanket, if that's how it has to be...

Corngranulations! He looks just perfect.When He gets Bigger, Uncle Scruffy will teach him the pull my finger trick.... That is if dad or grandpa doesn't beat me to it.... who am I kidding? LOL
With my oldest one, the first time my father held him, he stuck his tongue out at grandpa so, grandpa returned the greeting. They did that for about a year and a half! Congrats, Scruffy

sometimes I like to insist that an adult pull my finger... they finally do- and then I don't "do" anything at all- just laugh like crazy, it's hilarious when I'm in the mood for it- they are so worried I'll do something embarassing, then I do nothing, and it's still darn funny because we all know what they expected to happen... (even though I insist and promise not to pass wind, while I'm convincing them to pull my extended finger)

Mikey is a handsome young lad, congrats! Though I must admit that I had kind of been hoping for a girl, the name Isabella Waldo had such a magical ring to it.
