Hey Fitzwilly, I truly loved clown camp and feel I have learned so much by attending. One of my favorite instructors is BeBop- Aurora Krause from Texas. She did classes on routining your show, skits and routines, caring clowns-for nursings homes and hospice. I have worked some with the elderly but I really don't think I am at a place where I can do the hospice clowning. She is truly a wonderful person an a great clown. I never thought much about working with puppets but in the dealer room I found a great dog puppet -fell in love with it- bought it and was able to spend a full day with Dave Mitchell on puppets. I also enjoyed Patty Wooten- from California. I think I learned something for each instructure and class that I participated in. I realy enjoyed the staff on stage shows. I am trying to learn how to juggle- although I haven't quite mastered that skill yet, Lee Mullally's class was very helpful. Rone and Gigi-from Japan -their silent comedy class was great. I also enjoued just sitting around talking with all the other participants- a great way to learn. I guess I could go on and on and on...Of course, like most conferences, you meet people and develop friendships that are forever. It is hard to imagine anything better than clown camp. I am sad that there will only be 2 more years of clown camp. I'm sure there are other good trainings available- I will just have to find them.

Brenda - 3 of us (so far) from local are going to the Lake Norman Juggling Festival August 30-31. If you can make it, we can likely work out something of a car pool or such.

Also (more locally) a few of us are going to start meeting every weekend to do some juggling (balls, clubs, diabolo, devil sticks, flower sticks) and other work (unicycle, rola bola, balloons, magic).

We could probably move it to Friday afternoon sometime after your work if you want to join us. Let me know here or on my cell....

Brenda, another really good clown camp is Moose Camp (Pricilla Mooseburger's Clown Arts Camp). There are several of us here on the forum that have been there at leasst once, and some who will be there in 21 days.

Fitz and my dad are both instructors there, and I have been there for the last 4 yrs as staff assistant (not the official title, but it's the shortest way to sum up what I do there).

Starts on Tuesday, and goes til Sunday. Focuses on all kinds of clowning, but puts a strong emphasis on circus clowning. Teaches gags to do in parades and in the ring. There is a public show on Saturday, where the campers become the stars of the show, and the staff becomes the crew. Loads of fun, and a really great way to make contacs and friends!

Hey Jolly, I dont think I can go to the juggling thing. I am going to Advanced Studies- just got registered today. I am suppose to do a beach trip at work the week of the 24th. Not sure how I am going to swing everything. Maybe I can get together with you all sometime. Alot of weeks I just work 4 days- because of the distance and the gas prices. I also have lots going on the next several weeks but please keep me in mind. I am wanting to do something cool for national clown week- not sure what. Talk to you later.

Hey Harpoetta, Before I went to clown camp, I looked at Mooseburger. I really can't remember why I chose clown camp over it. Since ther are only 2 more years of clown camp, I am interested in other training and may give Moosburgers a try. I did get to meet Pricilla at clown camp this past year. Thanks for the info. Morning Glory
