I recently decided to upgrade my juggling skills from three to five balls. Since I haven't attempted to learn a new skill like this for 15 years I thought I would share some insights of learning to juggle that I picked up.
1) Visualize- When ever I hear someone talk about visualizing I would giggle, roll my eyes and not visualize. My decision to learn 5 came to me as I was driving to work one day, when bam I was able to see myself juggling five and see the timing. When I arrived at work I was able to do 5 throws and catches with five on my first try.
2) Breaks- It had been 3 years since I last attempted five balls. During this time I focused most of my energy on becoming a better 3 ball juggler. This allowed me to become even more comfortable with juggling in general.
3) Fun- If you aren't having fun learning to juggle, you aren't going to enjoy juggling. Take a break (see #2) from what you are working on and come back when you are ready to have fun.
Well, good luck to all of the jugglers on the forum and if you don't know how, learn, juggling is awesome!!
