I've dabbled a bit in CJ but have never really pursued it as seriously as I'd like to. I may take up the challenge again this winter, but wondering if there are any contact jugglers out there?

Yes, though I can't do much. The standard back and forth on the hand, but once I go up the arm I lose control and it manages to either fall on the floor, cracking the acrylic or on my foot, cracking my bones

Same really - I've had some damage to wrists in the past and am finding I'm not flexible enough to perform anything past basic moves at this point. To be fair, I've not really sat down with it long enough to truly test the waters though. The only resource I have on it is James Ernest book.




Edit: James Ernest is the author of the CJ book I have... Thurston James was the author of my prop building and mask making book(s).

Ditto ditto. I practice with a lacross ball that I aquired from my brothers girlfriend. I say "practice" but really it is "practiced" since I have been concentrating on ball and club juggling since it seems to have more comic potential than contact juggling.

Is that like "full-contact juggling"? That sounds dangerous - perhaps you should start with "two hand touch," and move up from there.

Seriously (as serious as we get around here, at least), you can't discuss contact juggling without at least a mention of Labyrinth. I can't find a YouTube video of Bowie (although I understand that he didn't actually do the juggling in the movie; there was some kind of "stand in juggler"). Seriously cool.

Same to me never really got into it. I do some basic contact juggling. When you use stage balls contact juggling is nice to combine with normal ball juggling. I personally mostly use it as a sort of in between. Before I start juggling or in the breaks when I'm talking to the kids I do some basic contact juggling moves like the butterfly, arm rolls and palm circles. Also isolations are great breaks in juggling routines to give the audience time to give applaus.

I've got CJ by James Ernest's already for years. It gives very clear explanations about all the aspects of contact juggling. A must have for everyone who's interested in the how's and what's of CJ

Oh SHOOT CONTACT jUGGLING BEEN DOING this for 10 years couple of great decepition moves makeing the ball pop up and they wonder how its done any my favorite with a slight it looks as if it drops out of my nose lands on back hand and floats from back to front hand to hand, depending on hand size 4 balls in hand and fifth on top of the four and moveing in circle in your hand and all 5 changeing position great with diffrent color balls love contact juggling and 1 club juggling also use all of this while I telling story and stage movement. when they ask about my other clubs I just say I could not make the payments on the juggling clubs and the came and reposised the other two clubs
