Knife throwing: the perfect hobby as well as a good skill.
So I finally got a hold of a couple of throwing knives (I love antique stores) and set up a plywood target in the back yard.
I think I have a found the perfect hobby because if you get frustrated by it, you can just do it some more!
There is much comic potential with the things, and they perfectly safe as long as no one is down range. Like juggling knives, they are not even sharp (at least for long.)
So anyone else around here a knife thrower?

HAd a Tomahawk block setup in my backyard for years when we lived out in the country. It was fun, competitive and so stress relieving. It wasn't uncommon to come home and see one of my buddies cars parked in the driveway and know they were down the hill practicing. Haven't done it in years.

i used to be pretty good at it. My older brother and a friend of his had set up a block and were throwing knives at it. They stretched a string across it so they could perch a playing card on the string for a target and try to hit the card. They had been trying quite a while to hit it with no luck. I walked up and said hey let me try... of course they laughed thinking I couldnt do it... I took the knife threw it, cut the string and the card fell to the ground.... they didnt have much to say...

Not me. No sharp objects allowed in this household. I can just hear my 4-year-old..."Look what I can do, Mommy!" Aaaaah!

Same here! LuLu won't let me throw knives. She's afraid I'll throw them at HER!

When I was a teenager, I was into the Ninja throwing stars. Knife throwing sounds fun and if it is a good way to reduce stress, count me in!

A little off topic, but we used to have a shooting range in our basement. . .that was a stress reliever!

I hope you're talking a shooting range with marshmellow shooters. You know, those PVC guns that shoot marshmellows across the room.

When I was little we had a archery range in the back yard. We also shot bb guns. I think knife throwing though is the most physically satisfying.
