Default An interest in clowning!

Hey everyone! I am new at this, so I'm going to tell you a little about myself. My name is Nicole and I'm 19. I'm a first year cosmetologist student. What I love to do most is perform. My hobby is to perform in musicals, sing, and dance. For a long time I've wondered what it would be like to be a clown and to perform as one. It was never a big thing for me...until recently. A couple of weeks ago I went to the Hometown edition of the Ringling Brothers circus in Macon, Ga and what caught my eyes the most were the clowns. They were great! The clowns were Raul Castano and Mitch. Raul was my favorite! Anyways, watching them really inspired me to want to get into clowning. I enjoyed the show so much, I went to see it twice. Ever since I was little I've always wanted to be a part of a traveling performing company whether it was Broadway, Opera, or even the CIRCUS! :-D Next year I plan to attend Mooseburger camp to learn about and how to clown. I've tried to look up clowns here in Macon to train me, but I had no luck...any suggestions? Anyways...It's been fun! :-D

Any interest in clowning, Are you kidding does a balloon have three, wait a minute-two ends? of course! Welcome Neeco! I suggest going to your local library and looking for a few books. Strutters complete guide to clown makeup by Jim Roberts, and creative clowning by Tony Blanco and Bruce Fife. Both are excellect resources to get you started.
You should also check the resources listed here on this web site. Also check out Clown-Ministry.com Even if you are not affiliated or intwerested in that aspect of clowning they have TONS of information on the history of clowning and clowns. Check it out thoroughly. You might also check out Bubba's Clown supplies. They are on the web and the Bubba university stuff is good also check out clowns of america international. They have a list of alleys (groups of clowns are called alleys). They maybe more interested in speaking to you if you approach them though their organization. I got into Clowning through 4-H, so you may try your local 4-H extention office to see if they have a group.
Bottom line, don't wait for Mooseburger camp. Go when you can but start Clowning Now!

Awesome! Thank you so much. I will definitely look into all that. Everytime I think about clowning I always get excited. It's a lot of hard work and time and I'm ready for that.
