Default Hello over here......

Good day to all,
I have moved from the Into forum to here to ask a couple of Newbie questions.
First: Balloons, what is a good brand that is balance between durability and price.
Second: Make-up,(everytime I think of that I think of the guy running onto stage with the big powder puff and whaming the person saying "Make-up), what is a good brand that you all like.

"Make-up" ..................................WHAM............ .....

Most clowns around here seem to go for Ben Nye or Mehron. Personally I use Mehron grease paint. I just find it easier to put on makeup with a brush. I tend to think makes are not as important as shades and types. These are a matter of personal preference. There is no real shortcut here you will need to experiment for yourself. When you find what works for you, stick to it

Default What ya need to know....

There are three main brands of makeup:
Ben Nye
Mehron
Proface

ALL are very good. I use Steins. I've had it forever. And there is so much that I don't want to throw it all away when It's still good. I use the Mehron No sweat to help keep me from sweating and to help keep my nose from falling off. I Do use the Ben Nye neutra set powder. It is 300% better than Baby pwder for setting your makeup. If you chech online you can llok at there catalogs and decide from there.
Balloons: Qualatex all the way. There is none better than I have found. Start with 260's. Eventually there will be other shapes you might need but 90% of all animals are made from 260 balloons.

BTw, Stiens has changed from What the stuff that I have. It has never been particularly "light" on the skin. I don't reccomend Steins. I 've never had trouble with it bothering my skin. But go with a creme style makeup.

Default Make Up

The best way is to try small amounts of each brand to decide what is best for you and as far as balloons the Qualatex are the most widley used

Yes, Qualatex are awesome! I just ordered some from the T. Meyers website for a few gigs I have coming up. I love the colors and they are really durable.
I use Proface makeup and some Mehron. I also use Proface setting powder. I have had good success with the Proface and they make it with the skin in mind. I have pretty sensitive skin and have never had any problems with it. The colors are vibrant too.

Well thanks to all the great input.
I have been to T. Meyers for a supply of balloons and some Pro face.
Also got Creative Clowning and have just started the reading.

You all are so helpful and I am glad to be a part of this.
Thanks again.

Kickback,
That's why we're here...to help each other and learn from each other. It's been an invaluable resource for me!
