I was asked to clown for a benefit for a family who's young, only child died last Xmas with e-coli infection.I'm planning on making balloon animals.Would it be proper to place a can at my balloon table for donations with all monies going to the family who is using all proceeds to build a new playground in the park?Or could I charge maybe 50 cents for each balloon? What would you do? I'm donating my time & supplies.
You're doing a good thing. I would ask for donations accompanied by a small poster with the info. In my experience with other benefits, I found that people gave more than I would have asked. You may give out a few free ones, but others may bring a $20 or more.

I agree with Gladman, You will get more asking for donations in this case. I would like to donate $5 if you send me your address. You don't even have to send me a balloon. I'll make myself one.

SeriousLee, glad you are participating in one of the most beneficial aspects of the Forum. Asking questions. There is quite a bit of knowledge and experience here and everyone is so willing to share. Please let us know how the event turns out.
