Default and yet another make up question?

I want to do an Auguste face, she will be bright and have big pretty eyelashes to boot!

My question: As far as make up what are the basics that I will need? I know white of course and powder to set but what else? I'm afraid I'll buy too much of something.

Well, PANETTA, The three basic colors are red, white, and black. you also need a flesh tone. I never use the flesh makeup except in a judging situation. If you want to use a blush then there are some other colors to consider. Most Auguste use white around the mouth and eyes. I guess my advice would be to buy a decent size clown white. Like a two or three ounce clown white. Ben Nye makes comething called a Character wheel. We bought one for my wife that has red black and white.
Also consider you will need brushes. Use the normal sponges and brushes that you would use to apply makeup. Ben Nye offers three complete complete kits with instuctions for applying makeup. they are:
Clown kit # HK-2
Auguste Clown Kit # HK-11
Deluxe Clown Kit # DK-1
They are complete with liner brushes, sponge wedges, remover and such but there is only enough four about four applications. You will do through those just trying to figure out what you want your face to look like,. I would by the individual items, It will cost more, but you will have enough to last through Character/ Makeup devlopment.
One last thing. Don't waste your time trying to set with Baby Powder. Get a good pro setting powder like Ben Nye Neutra Set. You will use less and the colors are brighter, especially black.
Chech out this for further info .

Strutter's Complete Guide to Clown Makeup is about the best book out there. Make sure you get a quality name brand of makeup and just try different faces and features until you find something you like that fits your clown personality.... ..Willy Nilly

dido on what's been said, our auguste have switched from using the flesh cream to the ben nye powder then add blush, it's casier to apply and to get off. alot of augute I've noticed have elected to not add the flesh but if your skin tone is light it helps to make the white stand out better.
