I learned to juggle with 3 tennis balls. I spent a lot of time chasing balls that I dropped so I got a lot of exercise learning to juggle, lol. I wished I had used scarfs or beanbags and I may have learned quicker.
If you count as you do your throws (ex. say "1, 2, 3, etc") it may help or simply say "throw" or "up" as you do each throw, it may help.
It is important that your throws are accurate and not wild. In other words, it is better to be able to do 5 correct throws than 10 wild ones.
Finally, give yourself time. Try to make small improvements every day and youi will be juggling 3 balls in no time at all.
Just my 2 cents worth!

I made about 15 or juggling bean bags last week, and so I have been teaching my students to juggle between while waiting or and in classes (after their work is done). I have been doing alot of saying "1, 2, 3," and "up, up, up." About three of four of them can do one rotation. The next hurdle is getting them to keep throwing!

Hi – I taught myself to juggle this week using the following: YouTube - How to juggle 3 balls
It took literally about 10 minutes to learn with three balls – I can only do about 10 throws at the moment, but that just needs practice, the theory is there. I learnt in my front room, but I need more space as I seem to find myself walking forwards?

That is a great video!
Walking forwards is normal. Actually most of the time it is running forwards. Practice more and try to do it less and less. Soon you will able to stand, sit, turn, walk or run forwards or backwards, stand on one leg, skip and so on while juggling.
Be mindful of what your hands are doing while you watch the balls. Your hands are where the control is. Once you release it, you cannot do anything to affect the balls path until you catch it again.
I when I was first learning I juggled in a city park where there was lots of space to mess up in. Anytime I learn a new trick I find a open spot. Lately it has been my school's auditorium.

I’ve done my practice for today and I’m up to a record 25 throws and catches!!! The videos online say to throw the balls quite high, but I find if I keep the throws at shoulder height it’s much easier to control. No one seems to mention the body movement – I find it easy to bend my knees and get a circular motion going with my shoulders and waist, not only does it help you to get a rhythm, but it’s also more visually pleasing/entertaining. I don't know why but it helps me to say "up" with every throw I make? So to hear me practice is quite funny - "up, up, up, up, up, up, shit ........ and up,up,up......"

I read some article on juggling, that said that juggling like anything you do with your body, really starts with the center of your body. The body is where the juggling happens. Bent knees are more stable. The shoulder thing means you are finding the rythm which is good. But idealy you want to be able to isolate the juggling movement to just your forearms and hands. That way you can do other things with the rest of you body like ride a unicycle, or walk on stilts.
I like juggling about neck level. The pace is comfortable. The head is too slow, (which is why he said learn there, any higher and it is easy for the balls to go wild) and the chest is too fast. It is fun after a while to start changing the rythm by juggling higher or lower.

73 and I can walk forward, backward and spin in circles too! I have started to juggle off a wall, which is actually quite easy, and I’m hoping to learn to juggle five balls between two people soon (if I can find someone who can juggle).
This is me practicing today in front of our beach hut in Broadstairs, Kent.
