Makeup Sensitivity?
My wife ("Daisy") and I were wondering if anybody had problems with acne or such from wearing a great deal of makeup for a long time. We both have sensitive skin, and we're wondering if we need special sensitive makeup or something.

Sorry guys,
I went and searched using terms like "acne" and "sensitivity," and nothing showed up, so I thought this was something new. Lo and behold (weren't they in vaudeville?), fourteen topics down, somebody else asked a similar question.
I'm still open for suggestions, but I suggest that anybody else dealing with issues like this look there first.

With the newer quality makeups from Ben Nye, Mehron and Pro-Face there generally are minimal problems. If fact it is more important how you take the makeup off than how to prep for appliying it.

just echoing what Fitzwilly said. Sitck with a good well know brand. All of them Fitz said are top quality. The stuff to avoid is the cheap stuff you find around the holiday season. I would also avoid Steins. It was the best there was in it's day, I used it myself, however, the newer cream based makeup is much lighter on your skin.

I'm a die-hard Jim Howle user. I love that makeup ... and I've never heard anyone's skin reacting unfavorably from it.
I would say, if allergies present problems with makeup, maybe the European type makeup (very little makeup) would be best.

I use Jim Howle grease paint (843-383-6147). I have extremly sensitive skin and I don't have to worry about breakouts...I have found that when I use baby oil to remove the make-up with I usually clog pores. So I also use the pro remover. Hope this helps some!!

every body's skin is different and what works well for one may not for the other. I remember one telling us he used one make up for a long time and loved it, then it started sliding off, his skin had change so he had to change back to another.

I often find myself sporting a lot of blackheads after a long run of wearing makeup. I think its not so much the makeup as it is making sure your really clean your face well after wearing it. Those cleanser pads I referred to in another thread are pretty good to use. I like to take my makeup off with one, then wash my face normally, then use another cleanser pad as a sort of exfoliant.

Painful?
No. By cleanser pad I mean skin cleanser pad. (not a pot-scrubber)
