Terminology
Hey, you guys!
Something that I thought might be useful for newbies (including myself) would be a place to ask questions about terminology. Every field has jargon, and clowning is no exception. Here's a few terms that I'm offering, first.
Joey: generic for a clown. From Joseph Grimaldi, the father of clowning.
Alley: A group of clowns (like a school or a flock)
Bump a nose: Polite clown version of "Break a leg." (I've run into a less-polite circus clown version that I won't post, just in case people know French).
That being posted, I was wondering if there was some special term for the white area around an Auguste clown's eyes.

As long as I'm at it, how many posts does it take to reach each level of clowndom? I got one balloon at 10 posts, so I've kind of figured that out myself.
I also figured out (the practical way) that the crown by a name means video game high score holder. (Is there a way to phrase that more awkwardly?)

Don't you get a crown with purple balls on it? What else would you like? A hundred dollars? Well, let me be the first to give you what you deserve.

Job WELL DONE! Now don't spend it all in one place ... and don't be drawing on it with yellow marker.

Fitzwilly almost has it; the rank of Clown Forum Newbie, with the single blue balloon, starts with the first post and continues until post #25. Lately I've been considering raising the bar for the higher ranks, since we now have so many Grand Poobahs running around.
Actually it's a jester's hat; if you look closely you'll see it's the same as the one on the clown squirting seltzer. I just recolored it so it would resemble a crown.

Maybe we could brainstorm a few new names for higher ranks and then maybe rearrange them.

But will anyone understand what it means to get so many posts that you become a "Fitzwilly"?

Change in Status
Wow, you mean I move up in ranks simply by talking too much? Why didn't the military treat me this way?
