Question Mark Help! Make-up Mistake?

I read in another thead that red around the eyes can cause blindness. I am a white face and use red outlined in black above the eye brow in a rised effect . What, am i going to go blind?

It isn't recommend that the red is right up close to the eye. I eyebrow area would be safer but I wouldn't recommend the red around the eyes for a different reason. From a distance the red eyebrows won't "read" as well as pure black or a darker color such as a blue or purple outlined in black. Please post a picture and we will be gentle with out suggestions. We each have different backgrounds and opinions on makeup design so we gently offer our suggestions, we DO NOT beat you over the head with a rubber chicken if we don't like you design.

I looked at my Mehron Color cups and I noticed on the back of my yellow one that it said "Avoid using yellow in the eye area. Red and Yellow may temporarily stain skin"

Whoops... I used Yellow all around my eyes for about 2 months when I did the musical CATS. My vision is fine... however I'd heed the warning.

What is it with Northerners that put sugar in cornbread?? Thats not cornbread! When you put sugar in cornbread it becomes CAKE!!!

Put the sugar in the tea! Thats where it belongs! I like my tea to be so sweet that I can pour it on my pancakes if I run out of syrup!

There were old whiteface clowns who used lots of red markings, including for eyebrow type stuff, beautifully. I don't see any reason why it couldn't be legitimately employed, if done well.

I think that the idea for the warning is not to have it right up IN contact with the immediate eye area, directly.

I concur with Fitzwilly as far as posting a picture, if you are able. It will help us to better understand where you are with things. And, if you'd be open to a constructive critique, well we're always ready and willing to assist with opinions and advice.

I had forgotten about the older circus Tim, and you are right. Some of thse classic looks are fabulous to this day.

It is a good thing that we have at least one knowledgable circus history buff on here. Thanks.

I did last night look at all my labels and discovered all my Mehron grease paint cups and crayons do have a disclaimer but my mehron creame performance make up stick, the one I use, doesnt. I will try to get a pic.on here.Oh yeah, why dont camels eat clowns? because they taste funny.

If you are not to far away Tic Toc, we are having our first ever Clown Forum Spring Fling get together in South Bend, Indiana the weekend of March 28-30. And you are not only welcome to come we are personally inviting you. There are other threads which talk about it so I won't belabor it. Basically is will be fairly small 25 to 50 people, mostly informal with many jams and group help sessions with a couple of slightly more regular "classes." At this point the only cost seems to be your hotel room.

In the fall the Korn Patch Klowns have a convention in Iowa. I don't remember any details right now but I remember it is in late September or early October.
