Yes, White-faced clowns do use blue. I used it blended with white as eye shadow.

I have been using Ben Nye, because that is what they carry locally. However, I saw some Jim Howle clown white and it was very creamy. Ben Nye is very heavy unless you warm it up in your hand (or boil in a caldron). My only concern with the Jim Howle is how it holds up on a hot day. It can get pretty sticky around here on the 4th July.

Ben Nye smoothes out very quickly when you put a dab in the palm of your hand and rub it around for a moment or two. With the Merhon white it takes a bit more time. If there was a scale with Jim Howle on one end and Ben Nye right in the middle then Mehron would be at the far end. Much thicker than Ben Nye.

Thanks Fitzwilly. How does the Jim Howle hold up on a hot day, as compared to the Ben Nye?

I believe that Nettie would be a better one to answer that than I. I know Jim and like his stuff but I have always used a combination of Mehron and Ben Nye. A few friends of mine use his makeup and as long as they powder well it seems to last as well as mine does.

I use the ben nye lite and love it, both in my White face and auguste for the white. humidity in you area can play an effect on the make up as well,
conerning using blue for a white face. I do, I use it as an accent on the lines I put around my face, and I use a rouge on the apple of the cheeks. During a make up class at a conference I went to the instructor did this and I like the way the way the suttle hint of color makes the white face more porcelin [sp?].

I use Jim Howle for the white, love it, it goes on so smooth and doesnt crack, Auguste and black and red, Mehron is great.......Different types of make up works better for different Skin Types. I have tried several different brands for the white and for me Jim Howle best........
