Default Clown Camp Here I Come.

Yippee – I’ve just been speaking with Mrs Milo and she has given me permission to Fly out to America and go to Clown Camp!

Can anyone tell me the best one (I’m aloud a week) – I’m looking to learn children’s party and public event type clowning, so juggling, unicycle ridding, stilt walking, slap stick routines, puppet work, clown magic, make up, mannerisms and all that jazz!

If anyone else in here has plans to go to a camp this year perhaps we could meet up and go together?

Has anyone been to clown camp before? Can you tell me a little about the schedule, what happens and how much you took away from the experience?

I would probably feel a little uneasy going to a religious camp, nothing against religion, but it would be a bit weird if the camp ethos was based around worship and I was the only non believer.

Wonderful! Milo, you are fortunate.

i will defer to the other members about which one to attend. Moose camp would be my first recommendation. There is also the Univerity of Wisconsin's at Lacrosse. There are others. These are the two most common.

You might also want to do some research on a clown by the name of Bluey Brattle. I believe that he operates out of Blackpool. At one time he was the european director of the world clown association.

WELCOME TO WORLD CLOWN ASSOCIATION
Clowns of America International

Both can get you where you want to. Contact their appropriate directors.

Thank you once again!

Bluey is just round the M25 North West of London (a couple of hours from me). I will be sure to drop him a line!

I would strongly recommend Mooseburger Clown Arts Camp. I know that betweein 5 and 10 members of the Forum will be there this year. The only drawback right now is that the rooms on location just filled up last week. There is a waiting list with I think 3 names on it. Usually 5 to 8 people cancel for various reasons. I would recommend calling First thing tomorrow. That is first thing Minnesota time. Which is GMT-6 if I remember correctly.

Doh! Looks like I’m not coming this year. Been talking with Mrs Milo and I think it’s going to make more sense for me to put together an act, spend a year learning from my own mistakes then come out and improve on what I’m doing next year.

It’s a whopping $3,000.00 inc flights, so I need to be sure that this is defiantly the right career for me before spending out.

If all goes well you might see the whole Milo family next year, we’ll make it our summer holiday!

You are kidding. The last time I flew to europe it was about 300.00. That was about 4 years ago. I know for COAI there was an issue with the price of the UK director coming but even then (3 yrs. ago) it wasn''t that much.

I ended up flying in a saudi airplane but that was ok with me.

If it about the time of year concider going to one of the conventions. They are in april and the flight might be cheaper then. there are a lot of classes theere to. It would be better to go to a week long school but if that is the price for summer air I don't know.

I hope you make it.
