I like #3... I think it has the best use of the colors.

I think blue on the lip does not give enough contrast to see the expresion. If you do not like red (I know some guys think it is to girly) you can try black. It realy shows very well and people don't think "oh he has black on his lip" they see the expresion which is what you want.

If you blend the bottom part of the white over your eyes just a bit I think it will give you a softer look. You can do that by just patting it in.

I also am not big on "rules" for clowns. It is an art form and therefore should allow for the expresion of the artist. But you can also learn from what other people have found works. There are reasons most clowns have either a red or black lip. Some I have seen even use white. But I think too odd a color distracts from the person inside. You want to draw attention to yourself. You want people to see your emotions. To...different...a look sometimes draws attention to just your make up and not to who and what you are and are trying to say.

And don't ever feel you are locked in to what you do first. A clown face grows with you.

I don't think anyone has said this yet, but I may have missed it:
Don't use red on your top lip.

The reason being this:
If you use red on your bottom lip, top lip, and nose, you no longer have a red bottom lip, top lip, and nose. You have a big gaping red hole where there should be a bottom lip, top lip, and nose.

If you're going auguste, use the auguste color on your top lip. Use black or red on your bottom lip, and red for your nose.

I just had a quick go at putting blue on my bottom lip only and my smile looks great! (even if I do say so myself). I had a little experiment with my eyes too, I have a fairly big forehead so it was good to take them a little higher! I really need to figure something out for my chin though, I just can’t find anything that looks right?

Today’s attempt – I think it’s the best so far, but it still needs some work! I need a fine black makeup pencil to get the detail right, a decent pro nose and a bit of colour somewhere, although I suppose my outfit will have plenty of colour in it?

Not great, but we’re getting a little closer to Milo the Clown!

I still feel like your eyes are being left out. Have you tried bringing the4 white down like fitz said? Your eyes are the most important thing. Windows to the soul and all that.
I do like the way it is shaping up.

I agree with pixcoco, you need to bring the white down more into your eyes.
It has a lot to do with your expressions.

Though I like how you've elevated the white, without it also now coming down to your actual eyes, you lose all expression. All which is perceived is white above a big gaping hole. Remember, when you add the makeup to your face, THAT is what people see and are drawn to. If it isn't there, it isn't there. Try bringing the white al the way down to cover your lids. Then use mascara (on the top lash) and/or eyeliner (one the lower lid) to make your eyes pop. At that point, you ought to really have something going for you.

Also, even though you have the high forehead, make sure that where you have the black outlines is where your face MOVES. Otherwise, all you have is a painted on face with remains static. If the lines move where you have them, then GREAT. If not, they need to be repositioned to where they do move.
