Thx I think that'll come in very handy as I've just bought some juggling rings. I'll go to the bookstore when I get home from school tomorrow. Thanks again

Hi Shady,
I actually do not do any clowning anymore.

I ONLY do juggling and magic. And in most cases/gigs/events, its one or the other. Rarely both.

I was exactly your age when I started getting into Juggling and magic originally and was in the EXACT same prediciment as you are right now. I am in Dublin, so what I did was I went to the DIT and the Trinity juggling clubs. Anyone can just walk in and join in and dont worry about not knowing anyone, its the easiest place on earth to meet people and jugglers/magicians/clowns are actually friendlier than your average folk (In my opinion) because they have to be.

There are juggling conventions organized by Cormac and some girl from trinity a few times a year. This is what you REALLY want to attent. People from all over Ireland come to these and do free workshops on clowning, juggling, acrobatics, unicycling, poi etc. Its really a lot of fun and you learn so much.

First time I ever passed clubs was with an Icelandic girl who I met at the Tralee juggling convention. She saw me sitting there on my own taking a rest and asked me to pass with her. I told her i couldnt and she said shed teach me. 30 mins later we were passing clubs and I never looked back.

If you need any reccomendations on where to go or how to go about it, let me know. Even stop by one of the Trinity fire shows, just to get to know people. Make sure you make every attempt to join in!

PS: I'm not that much older than you either.
Mind yourself.

Thanks Webmaster. I'd probley have to go to one of those clubs in the summer when I'm off school. I finally got some juggling rings so I'm having a lot of fun with them.

I've just come back from the International Juggling Festival (New Zealand) and wow what a nice bunch of people. Everyone was so helpful and I learnt heaps - had a go at unicycle, balloons, diablo, clubs, devil sticks and of course juggling balls - or at least trying to! Saw some great acts from professionals. And it was a really cheap.
It's an annual event here and I'd reccommend it to anyone that can toss a ball.
I'm sure they must run in many countries - there is a site www.jugglingdb.com that has clubs, festivals, events and stuff on (haven't checked it out yet just found out about it at the fest.)
I want to juggle some irridescent scarves to music, that would be cool.
Come to think of it there were a few Irish people at our festival.
