It is important to use the right products. You have done amazingly well, I did not guess that you were using the Halloween stuff. Ben Nye and Mehron are the two best and most commonly available brands of professional clown makeup, and they are not overly expensive. Looking at your face I would say that you can buy pots of the colors you need for less than $20 or so, and they will last a really long time. You will only use a very little each time you apply your makeup.

Both companies also produce makeup pencils that work great for outlining your features if you don't like using a brush for that.

With professional makeup you won't really need to worry about choosing the right face depending on the temperature. When powdered correctly your face will breathe comfortably and still last for hours and hours.

Tip hat Powdering clown makeup

Professional clown makeup works like theatrical makeup (because it is basically the same thing.) Also called greasepaint, the makeup does not dry like water based makeup does. It will stay tacky, so what you need to do is either use "setting powder" or plain talc baby powder. A simple way to do that is to take a new child's sock and fill about half way with the talcum powder and tie shut. Apply your white base, pat until smooth, remove the white from where you are going to have other colors, then lightly pat all over with the powder sock. Now go back over your face pressing the powder into the makeup. The powder is absorbing the excess "oils" in the makeup and "setting" the makeup. gently feel the makeup on your face to see if any areas are still tacky, pay special attention to the areas around the eyes and the base of the nose. Repowder any areas still tacky. With a blush type brush remove the excess powder. You are now ready to apply your next color.
