Default Help! Makeup question

I have noticed lately that my grease paint is crumbling and falling off.

What's going on?

Thanks in advance!

Are you doing anything different? Have you changed powders or anything else?

it could be that your skin in changing and you may need to adjust the way you apply your makeup. You may even find it necessary to try new products to see if that solves your problems.

I had a wierd problem with my make-up today too!

I put on my white make-up, and when I powdered it, it blotched up. I don't think that had ever happened before. I was short on time, so I couldn't totally redo it, and I decided to re-apply the white after I powdered. I was positive it was going to look like crap, but it actually turned out okay. (I could have sworn that I attempted that years ago with distastrous results.)

Is there a shelf life for grease paint? I used the same stuff a week ago and it was fine. I'm a little paranoid now.

I found out, the hard way, that if I use any products with an alpha hydroxy substance in it...My make up will flack right off. Some cleaners have that in it. You have to read the fine print. It works to make you look younger by making the dead layer of skin come off. But as with every thing...timing is everything. I started to read carefully and have not had that problem since.

Just a possibility. That stuff is in a lot of things these days.

Is the makeup new or old? Did you get any powder in the makeup before putting it on? Are you using a different powder? Is it new or old?

Smacky, would you mind posting the brands that you use? It would give us a better idea of what might be the trouble.

I've used the same brand (J**H****) for years and never had a problem but some folks do recommend replacing your make up periodically, citing shelf life/contamination. For pre-cleaning my face, I use the cheapest baby shampoo I can find.

I think the problem MIGHT be the Mehron Clown White Lite.

I usually use the regular full-strength heavy white, and I went back to that and had no problems.
