If there is a safety concern, it likely wouldn't be at the party, itself (unless there was a worry about leaving your car unattended.) More probably, it would be a matter of getting in and out of the neighborhood. I'm guessing that, even in that sort of a situation, your chances aren't too bad. I mean, what's going to happen? Carjacking? Gang crossfire? If you're just driving through, how likely is it that you'll get bothered? Sometimes, even in a rough neighborhood where you don't want to just be hanging around too long, it is safe enough to drive through to get in and out. Cops often overemphasize how bad things are because that is all they ever hear about and deal with.

Performining in high crime areas isn't worth the risk. Unless you are trained in the art of slapstick, and can overcome any potential threat . (joking) Yet ghetto kids need good wholesome entertainment too. It's totally up to you. But just take care of yourself, and keep safe.

I talked to quite a few people that know the area or live in the area and everyone with the exception of the first cop have said the particular trailer park I am going to should be just fine. I am bringing my mother with me, and I am sure it will be a blast. Thank you for all of the advice.

For that particular cop, just tell him when you will be there and let him know that you will have a dozen donughts from Krispy Creme and a tankard of fresh coffee.

I am so glad you are going. I have done so many parties in areas other would not tread, and they were just fine...even fantastic.

I bet nobody even thought of this solution ... if anyone bothers you, just pull out your magic wand and become invisible until you get back to your car.

I just thought I would tell everyone the party went pretty well (except having to be an hour late due to my mom needing to go to the e.r earlier in the day due to a freak dog bite incident). Everyone was so nice and welcoming although there were was a bit of a crowd control issue with 75 kids and a helper with only one arm haha, but other than that it was really really great. One of these days I will remember to take a picture to post to show everyone. Thanks again, I don't know what I would due with all of the wonderful advice you guy and gal clowns give.

Seventy-five kids and one (well, 1 1/2) clown(s)! Wow, that's quite a ratio! Glad you survived and that it went well. Good job, Zoey.

Zoey, I hope your mom is OK.

I am glad to hear that the party went well. I am sure this was a good learning experience.
