Clown Star Parade advice?

I admit it....I'm a "lurker"....I have been spending LOTS of time reading the archives....there are so many helpful ideas and great advice!
I'm looking forward to meeting you in person, Fitzwilly, at Moose Camp this summer!
A bunch of us are getting ready to partcipate in our local Fourth of July parade. Do any of you have advice for a newbie?

Just be yourself and have fun. That's the best thing you can do. If you are enjoying yourself, the audience is likely to enjoy it too!

And continually grow, develop your skills in order to improve.

Welcome to the posting world of the forum!

I just got back from the "RED SKELTON FESTIVAL" in Vincennes In. We were in the Parade of clowns. I love it! It's so fun to see all the differant kinds of clowns and ways to put thinks to gether, and the walk-a-round props were so funny. After you do your first Parade you'll be hooked.

See if you can come up with a sight gag. Look for a twist on the invisible dog or clowns pushing a baby buggy. One clown told me he likes the gags that only reveal themselves after you have passed them.

How about doing laundry/ironing and after you pass they can see a big iron shape burned in the back of your outfit.

I use a flashlight hidden in my pocket and wear a sign Free Shoe Shines. Go up to a person and ask if they want a Free Shoe Shine, then pull out the flashlight and shine it on the persons shoes.

My invisible dog Spot is also a big hit especially when he releives himself on the tires of a parked Police Car.

Please let me know what you think of the notebooks this year. Each year we try to add to them and make them easier to navigate. If you have any questions or ideas on making them better for next year please let me know.

My only concern is that five days is not going to be long enough! How the heck I'm going to decide what classes to take--there are about five I simply must take for each session.
