Question Mark Book, DVD, or Prop reviews?

Since I am new to all this, I would find it helpful to be able to read reviews of the various books and/or DVD's out there that pertain to clowning. If lots of people rate a certain book or DVD very highly (and only a few gave it negative feedback), then I would be inclined to purchase that particular item. No secrets would have to given away...I would trust the opinions of you folks who have great knowledge and experience!
Is there such a "page" on this forum? Is there a place where you have a recommended reading/viewing list? I tried to do a search, but perhaps I wasn't looking in the right place.
It might be nice to have a page for reviews on props as well. Not long ago I bought a "break-away" wand, but after I got it and opened the package, I was very disappointed with the quality of it. I'm sure that there is more than one brand out there, I just happened to get one that isn't very good. Is there a page where you can list your favorite things or your not so favorite things? Thanks!

A lot of the props like the break away wand are manufactured overseas and that is why and how so many can products can be offered for less than $20. With books and DVDs it is a little different but much of clowning is not so much the props as how they are presented. As my character develops more and more each year I use less and less "extra material" and rely more and more on improv and interaction.

There are a number of magic websites that offer reviews of magic DVDs (the magicians would be better able to offer exact websites) Balloon HQ - Educating the World About Balloons and Balloon Art has a section where twisters have reviewed various DVDs. You might have better luck making a list and asking us about specific items you are interested in.

There's a Reviews area in the Articles section just waiting for some clown product reviews

What and spoil all the fun of discovery? There are so few books out there on clowning that all of them have something interesting to say. What I did was use my local libraries and found some books there, and some I aqcuired through the national inter-library loan system. Talk to you local reference librarian about it. For book titles, check out the Amazing Clown Rescources thread towards the bottom is a list of books. I need to add more to it because some one posted some more to the thread and I haven't updated the first post for it yet.

But yeah... explore and search. There is not enough stuff out there to be too picky. Looking at the not so great stuff is almost as valuble as looking at the really good stuff.
