Default same name

I have hired a newbie,a pastors wife, starting a small fledgling clown ministry. she chose the same name as a competitor who is very sensitive. I will use the name--Sunshine,not the real name but it illustrates the commonality of the name

Knowing the sensitivity of the other Sunshine,I suggested to the pastors wife she may want to change the name. She picked Sunny. She is an independant contractor, not my emplyee and she does a very fine performance

Yet the competitor is harrassing me by phone and voice mail because i am hiring Sunny

Am i obligated to not work with Sunny because a competitor is upset over the name. There are many Sunshines in our city,I'm not sure if she is mad at them all

Default Same name

This is not a problem I would worry about
Iwork with three clowns with the same name and you would not get them confused they each have their own character and acts
But they also dont claim to be one of the others

I agree with Jamz! I would worry more about if "your" Sunshine will be affected by others having her name! If not, go forward, if yes, suggest a name change in the same catagory...how about Sunbeam, Sunbright, Shiny, etc... R.C.F.

I agree with Jamz and RedCllownFred, you could away suggest adding a name ie Sunny Belle, Jo, Lee, etc to make it more unique. Many clowns have the same or common names, the trouble comes when some one dresses exactly like another and calls themselves by the same name. I've heard of this causing problems.

Hi ya Rainbow! Funny bumping into you here!

Anyways, back to topic. Sounds quite childish. If your going to pick an unoriginal name and then to be upset because someone else has the same name you have no one to blame but yourself.

I have an idea you might propose. They should square-off in the hexagon of death dressed in full clown costume, and the clown who walks out gets the name.
