Default Newbies to clowning

Hey! My name is Baby Annabelle Plumbuckle( formerly Baby Dimplesfairy...) I am very new to clownig, and know I'm going to LOVE it. I love the sound of childrens' laughter! I am still in the very early stages of my charactor...and don't even have my hair, costume, NOSE...makeup, yet. But all in due time. It'll be fun 'piece-mealing' Annabelle together. I'm glad I've found this website, and think its going to be very helpful and y'all sound very supportive too!
A little bio: I am from Cleveland in northeast Georgia. Cleveland is known as the 'gateway to the mountains'...its also the HOME of the original Xavier Robert's CABBAGE PATCH KIDS, and Babyland General, where they are 'born'.
I am recently married (Febuary) to my sweetie-pie of EIGHT years...we had to be 'sure' about eachother, I guess. We're empty-nesters. My kids are ages: 22,18 and16. and his are ages 19 and 13. We rarely hear from them unless they are in trouble or need something. They're great kids though and it seems grew up to fast for me, and are now too big to cuddle!

I am presently developing my charactor of little Annabelle. She's a 'toddler' clown beteen the ages of oh, let's see, I think 4 and 6. Being a clown, she is SUPPOSE to like balloons, but unfortunately, Baby Annabelle isn't too good with them yet, and is actually a little AFRAID of them, because her's has a tendancy to POP and that scares and makes her CRY! She's torn between being very attracted to them, as children tend to be, but not entirely confident in their ability to stay inflated.

Anyway...I'm glad to have found "y'all"( did I mention I'm from Georgia?) and looking forward to clowning with you!

Baby Annabelle Plumbuckle/Susan F.

Annabellel, I must confess, I like your new name better. I think it was a good choice.

It sounds like you have given your character a lot of thought. Now comes the fun part; bringing that character to life! I'm curious, have you taken classes, read books, watched videos/ What kind, if any training have you recieved? Not that it matters; I'm just curious There are several good books availible that I think every clown should at least read. Creative clowning by Tony Blanco and Bruce Fife. Also, Strutter's complete guide to clown makeup by Jim Robertson. They will get you very far.

And Please, do join us for chat on thurs night. It's fun when there's a lot of us!

:P Hiya Jamz, Gigi, Scruffy and Saphire Sue! Thankyou for your warm welcoming response. Sue where do you live in SC? We're almost neighbors!

I have had no formal clown training at all, so I believe I'm probably a 'neophyte' newbie-newbie with alot to learn. I appreciate those book recommendations, Scruffy. I wrote them down and will look into ordering them or finding them at the library.

Clowning and enjoying others with a sense of humor is definately in my family tree. My dad could always maangae to find humor in little day to day situations in life. He told us alot of stories of his childhood and growing up during the depression, as well as his many 'near-death' experience. He was amazed that he had lived through them to be able to tell about them. His favorite seemed to be about being hit by a train. He told that to EVERYBODY, and even had a picture of it.
Well, its good to be here! If I can make it back for the chat at 9:00 I will. I have to do all my computing from a library as we don't have a home PC just yet
Annabelle Plumbuckle (I like this better too!)
