Help for a sorda newbie clown

I clowned many years ago , tho i didnt have an actual name i was just the " singing telegram clown" along with many other characters. Tho now i am going back to clowning and and coming up with a name is harder than i thought. I saw the registry place , but how do you check to see if a name is already registered or does that matter? My actual name is tootie , which is what i go by in real life (tho not my birth name, its been my name tootie has been my name since birth but im unsure , it seems like just my name not a clown name to me) and so any help with that sort of thing?? Plus i have read just about all 14 pages of posts and learned and gained a lot of useful and helpful information, thanks to all.
Also , can anyone suggest a basic pricing guide , as prices have changed drastically since i last clowned (10 years ago).
Also Mr Inky Bobo, could you post any links to any history of the beginning of clowns as i found that very interesting and would love to read more about it.

As far as regestering your name I don't think it is that important as long as noone in your area is using the same name, no one really cares.
As for your name, if you don't want to just use Tootie, ad somthing to it like Cutie Tootie or a variation on it like Tootie Frutie depending on your character. You can read an artical I wrote on character development for the 3 Ring News on my website www.IYQENT.com on the news page.

It is hard to advise you on pricing because it varies so much from area to area. The best way to find out what people in your area are charging is to go thru the phone book and ask. Pretend you are planing a party and ask what they would charge.
