An update and a question

Hi. Well I am starting to actually feel like a real clown.

I worked a mall on Saturday and it was rewarding.

I did a lot of fun things and started to feel more like a

clown as opposed to someone just dressed up like one.

My question: There is a clown I enjoy working with. We have

nice chemistry together. We are thinking of doing some funny

skits together while he is doing his show. One idea I had was

the squirting camera. I go up and say Hey I would like to take your

picture. That is one idea.............do you have any others. Thanks

It sure is great to find someone with whom you have
a chemistry!

My friend and I do a funny handshake bit where he
sticks out his hand to shake hands with me, but I
reach up to tip my hat. Then we swap - I realize he
was going to shake hands, he realizes I was tipping
my hat... We go back and forth a few times, getting
faster and faster and more and more frustrated...

There are lots of 2-person skits. We like "stagecoach" --
simple and no props involved other than 2 chairs.

We practice doing some improv back and forth, each
challenging the other.

You will find something that works between the two of
you, and when you do, it will be fun and effective!

Having a clowning partner is a great thing! There are many great gags that can be done with two clowns. You might look for a book called Clown Act Omnibus. There's lots of skits in it that can be done by two clowns. I think it's rewarding to work with a partner. Particularly for a newbie. It relieves some of the anxiety and gives you someone to feed off of.
The squiting camera is a classic, Darsee. You can do it in a normal you where the the sitter gets wet. Or, you can have the camera squirt you in the face, try it agan.Then get wet a second time, Finally you ask the sitter to take your picture, when you get wet for the third time.
Just a thought.

One of the funniest commercials I've seen
in a long time has someone using a
Stapler like a camera? He looks through
it and "clicks" it.

That's a great example of improv -- making
something into something it isn't.

I agree with Scruffy -- the gag should be in "3's"

Attempt to photograph the "victim" but get
squirted yourself. twice. Then have the bright
idea that You'll get in front of the camera and
the "victim" will take your photograph and presumably
get squirted. Instead, of course, YOU get squirted.

There are LOTS of skits that follow this "Recipe." It
is a proven formula for laughter. The practical joke
that backfires onto the jokester.

Lots of good stuff here that is for SURE.

There is also a squirting camera I saw on the internet
that sprays water first and then the second time
one of those exploding snakes cames thru the
camera. Must be a big camera. lol
Yes, I am very lucky that I have a fellow clown who
wants to do skits with me. I have an urge to
throw a pie in his face too. We may be doing a
skit for a benefit for someone who is in need of
money for medical problem. I thought the pie in
the face might be good near the end.
