Default newclown

hello has anyone here ever had custard/ cream pie in their face, is it fun and a good thing to use in a performance? does it damage the make up? also is there any clowns here from england? i have only just started learning about clowning and what kind of clown to be. i would also love be properly face painted as a clown and was wandering if there are places to go that can make my make up more better. thanks.

The book "Strutter's Guide to Clown Makeup" would be a good place to begin. I've never had a pie in the face but I would think that it would mess up your face and costume. Good luck!

Hi An old clown Here, in England as well,
join Clowns International and you will learn loads
there is a link from my site
www.furryfoot.co.uk
Do not use face paint if you are going to take a pie it will just wash it off, you need to be using a proper theatrical makeup that is fixed in place and even then it will need repairing after.
I have taken hundreds of pies and the one bit of advise I would give is close your eyes and dont breeth in as it hits
custard pie in the eyes, throut or lungs is horrible, your eyes sting, nose runs and you cant breath, you just look a right mess
Have loads of fun practicing
Love
Furry Foot

hi, thanks for your advice. it is very helpful. you kind of make getting custard pie in the face very scary, am not sure it would be good to be throwing pies in a performance if it is really horrible for the person getting hit by them. i think placing a cream pie in the face sounds better from what you say than throwing. i am so busy with work have not had time for clowning, but am keen to assess whether this is a good thing to use in a performance. maybe it might be best to practice. any other advice and suggestions from anyone is welcome. thanks:)
