Kids Music
What are your favorite kids party songs? I'm going to create a Kids Party song list on the IPOD, and I'm interested in adding both action songs and background music.
My favorite action/dance tunes are currently "Tony Chestnut", and, naturally, "The Chicken Dance" (although my 11-year-old tells me that the real name of that song is the "Happy Bird Dance")

pottery barn kids has several great cd's. It has a lot of old classics like Doggie in the window, the complete version. ding ding ding went the trolly, glow worm, a tisket a tasket, ani't nobody here but us chickens, swingin on a star. I love them all. Most kids have never heard how much is that doggie in the window. I find that hard to believe.
Other favorites are- do your ears hand low, this old man, mariposa...I will have to put on my thinkin cap to dig some more out of my brain.

Did you check Milo's post on Dance Routines in this same subforum, actually almost on the bottom? He has some good ones there.

My granddaughter's FAVORITE is "Little Bunny Fufu". There is a cd by the Learning Station (the same ones who made Tony Chestnut) and there are several good songs on there. One that comes to mind is called, "This is how you rock" - at least I think that's the name. It's out in my car and I'm ready for bed ... I will let you know more about it if you still need it tomorrow.
There is a series of Toddler tunes that is really GREAT. I love music ... it just seems to add so much more fun to any party.

"The wheels on the bus" is a good song for younger children. So are counting songs like: "There were ten in the bed, and the little one said roll over." Can you tell I'm living in the 1960's?

If you check out Raffi, he has recorded a lot of children's favorites. Also, my son really likes some of the Sesame Street songs, wee sing, etc. Wow, there are so many good ones, how do you choose?

I LOVE Raffi -- I hadn't thought about him in years since my kids have outgrown him, but one of my favorites was "Banana Phone."
Uh-oh, guess what song is stuck in my head now?!
