Hey all, I emailed Angel from the website I talked about. And here is the following email that was sent to me a bout coloring books.
Quote:
Thank you for your inquiry. Our Face only Coloring Sheets are $45.00 plus 4.50 shipping and our full length Coloring Sheets are $50.00 plus $4.50 for Priority Mail shipping and handling. Here is a link to some samples on our site: http://www.art4clowns.com/colorsheets.html. Angel needs clear photos, which can be sent via email or snail mail. Snap shots are fine, as long as they are clear. Actual photos are returned with the completed order. Please include both a long shot showing the entire costume from the top of the head or hat, down to the shoes, and a close up of the face, so that details of the makeup can be captured in the illustration.

Other helpful information you may want to include in an email or note:
- Text you would like on your Coloring Sheet, such as clown name, phone number or web site, etc.
- Personality of your character.
- Things you like to do, such as face paint, balloons, juggle, or magic.
- Something you are known for, or props you use often that you would like in the drawing.
- A pose you like, even though you are posed differently in your photos. Angel can also create a pose for you in the illustration.
- This is a cartoon - a fantasy - you can be doing most anything, even if it is not physically possible. This is your chance to be creative!

We accept cash, check, money order, MasterCard or Visa as payment. We request payment prior to beginning work on your project.

I hope this is helpful. If you have any question, please call or write
Angel

I say this as a guy trained in multimedia: get a professional to do it. The programs that you need are expensive (several hundred dollars) and you would have to learn to use them first.

The Fitzwilly coloring sheet I have posted in the gallery is one of the ones I have had Angel draw. I have very happy with each of the coloring sheets he has completed for me.

50 bucks for one of Angel's drawings (which is going to do a LOT for you) is cheap!

Mine have certainly gotten me a lot of attention. I have a few puzzles on the back of my sheets, that way if the child feels she is two old for the coloring sheet she still might be interested in the puzzles on the back.

Lightbulb Software program Photo to coloring page

[quote=Jamdealie;18197]Does anyone know of software that one could purchase that would convert a photo in to a coloring book-like picture?

Go to Kodak and download their Easyshare software. In the edit section it has a program that will turn your photo into a comic or a coloring book page. The software is free. It will store all your photos in an album and has lots of nice photo editing features. Very easy to use and I'm a cyber moron.

I've had some luck with Paint Shop Pro doing line art. They don't have shading like hand drawn pics. Guess I just figured out what to play with next. see if I can get the shadows and shading. It only takes me about 3 hours for a basic one.

I just had professional photos taken of Loki and can't wait to get the prints to line out.

I used The Gimp (freeware) to do mine. It was quick, but I'm a pretty advanced user. There are plenty of Gimp tutorials on the net, and I just followed one of those to get mine done. The result looks okay, but I was in a time crunch to get it done for an event. I will probably spend some more time on it and fine tune it. The quality of the original picture really determines how successful the conversion will be.

Pictures, we want to see pictures...

P.S. What do you suppose an employee of GlamorShots would do to make one of us a "glamour star?"
