Default Trick Hats

I really want to learn how to make trick hats like these
http://www.kbclown.com/trickhats.html
I am interested because I would like to be able to customize them to fit my character.

Any help or ideas or websites?

I've heard about instructions out there and even recall someone relating an experience of making a personalized felt hat. That may have been "Jewls".

Why not just contact Karen Bell and ask her? If you are really interested and commited, perhaps she'd be willing to teach you the trade.

Karen is a great lady. She came aboard Moosecamp around 2003. Give her a call. I think rolled into the brim is some kind of heavy hemp-like rope. The rest of it? Not sure there.

I think I can modify those instructions to make a hat. I will let you know

So.....

Any update on this thread? I'm starting to think about a new hat myself, and wondered if anybody had any success making one of their own. The directions don't look terribly difficult. I was just wondering if the finished product would be suitable for manipulations and juggling, or if I should just buck up and pay for a ($$$ shudder) Nils Poll or Dube.

Anyone, anyone? Bueller, Bueller?
