I am a prop recycler. I am in the fortunate position as prez of a local magicians club, and I have received many boxes of crazy stuff, mostly from some of my mentors in the club, many of them in their 70s and 80s. I try to get the stuff into the hands of those who can use it the most.

Let's all stand and bow our heads, and repeat after me ...

God, grant me the serenity to accept the props I have already charged,
the ability to charge the things I cannot afford,
and the wisdom to know how to use the props once I get them home.

And also, help me to be careful of the salesmen I meet
today who are sure I need this prop and are willing to help me
Find the perfect prop, and
To know I really don’t need it, even with a 98% discount.

And help me to remember...
When I'm having a really bad day,
and it seems that shopping for props is fun, but it
takes 42 muscles to smile at the sales person
And 98 to frown once I get home and try to figure out why I have it.

Amen.
