Yes, I walked and looked at some of the underbodies for sale - similar to go-cart with tires. I am mechanically challenged, so I need a willing person to make one for me ... for Christmas GIFT. lol

I'm used to seeing early 50's Mercs being used for lead sleds not 58 Chevys. With those being the only year with that body style most people are just restoring them these days.

Yea, my friend had a silver merc.. led-sled... man .. it was mean looking... looked like a shark driving down the road at you .. .the silver... the grill (teeth)... I got to drive it down the road so he could actually see what it looked like.. had flame throwers ... nice!!

I got as far as pullin all the stuff off... then had to sell ... needed money... life... oh well.

Anyone can restore one. . . .it takes a real man to chop it up and customize it !!!! I wanna do a clown car someday. . .I have a serious hot rod addiction at present. I'm going to use all fiberglass for the body and hopefully power it electrically. And it'll do wheelies!!! yup, yup, yup no point in even doin it less'n it'll do wheelies. I'd love to have one that you could control with your feet and do something with your hands while the chimp drives. Howza about that one. . . . I wonder if the old ball and chain will let me get a chimp????
