I was in a parade with Scruffy and Sassy and we were in a clown Jug Band. I was the drummer and during the parade I would take my chair and jump off the float and run down the road in front of the float and sit down and watch the parade float go by.
After a minute the other clowns would call me back onto the float. I did this about 6-8 times during the parade. One time one of our clowns sat down on my lap. the spectators loved it. As did the anouncers of the parade.
It was a simple routine and when you break it down a real running gag. Cause I have to run to catch up with the float.

The following 1 clowns laughed out loud at Doc & Jasper's funny post:
That's cute ... very cute. A clown in our alley did something similar, except he didn't carry the chair ... he would just run up ahead of the float and borrow someone's blanket and lie there on his side with his head tilted on his arm until the float went by, then pretty soon, he would run to someone else's blanket. I like the chair idea better. I was surprised at how many people let him borrow their blanket!!

I started using this routine with Cornelius my mime. During a Fronteer parade he would get ahead of the group and sit on the curb with the children and watch the parade till the group tells him to get up.
It is a blast.
