I've considered buying some sort of plastic toy in bulk - but with all the recalls and lead poisoning that seems to pop up daily; I'm very hesitant to go that route for now.
I know a little origami, and really need to pre-make a bundle to keep on hand I suppose - it's just hard to find time. I saw these inflateable ''bongo'' stick things in Dollar Tree the other day; sort of like the ones I posted about as a latex alternative -they make a funny noise when you bang them against something.
They're too small to make anything out of; and you have to use clips to shape this type of tubing anyway - which also could be a choking hazard - but it's something inflated and bright to give a kid in a pinch...
