Name Gag and looking for more gags to impress the adults
I have found that often it doesn't matter how much the kids laugh, if you don't throw a couple in for the adults in our audience, you might not be at the NEXT birthday party . SOoooo...
I tell everyone "I likes people to remember who I am. So I has my name everywhere...on my back" I turn around and sure enough,
there in red letters *BOBO* "on my front" and I have the same *BOBO* on the front of my shirt. "I have it on my hat" I show them my new Clown forum button (Thanks Princess, I love it!!)....And then the punch line. "and fer those who really might not remember me... I has B.O. under each arm" When the audience starts to laugh I give them my best perplexed look and say "what....no really look!! " and I show them "BO" under the left and "BO" under the right. At this point the adults are in stitches and I can go back to focusing on the kids.
Anybody else have good gags to keep the adults coming back for more?? After all "Kids win our hearts but their parents pay the bill"
Don~ BOBO

Bobo,
Sounds like a great joke. I think the best kids shows and movies have enough adult humor to keep the adults watching. I don't have any good ideas, but hopefully the other clowns will chime in with a some ideas to share with the group.

I love it Bobo. I'd steal the idea, but I don't think it will work with my name.

At times I will ask someone to stand next to me. I ask them to stand on my right side not my left side. I explain that I smell better on my right side. I use right gaurd. I havn't found any left gaurd. I might mutter something about they need to make more left gaurd and check myself if I feel the joke needs more reinforcement. sometimes just a quick reference is enough. Seems like it might could get worked in to your B.O. bit.

Figuring out things for adults is easy: just think of what would make you laugh at a clown and do that.

Now, I'm fully aware that I should be the last person to give advice on the subject of humor, but I do have an opinion as a people-watcher. Pop culture references are your best friend, especially throw-back pop culture references. But, please, no "I just saved a ton of money on my car insurance by switching to Geico!" jokes. They have been officially killed dead and every time someone does it, I die a little inside. Note: "Leave Britney alone!" is also in the grave.
Chances have it that the adults you will have in the audience are your average run-of-the-mill people and that may keep them satisfied. However, if you sense that there might be an intellectual or a computer nerd in your audience, throw them a bone. Teens might enjoy a Napoleon Dynamite joke. Basically, stereotype people but don't go into offensive territory.

Your post made me laugh Calavera, although it was mostly at myself. At a job I had lat year one of the other workers would make pop culture references all the time. I tend to be somewhat... ah... challenged when it comes to current... well almost any aspect of pop culture type events. News, science, technology, now that interests me. But Heath who??? She finally got to the point where she would start making some reference and then stop in the middle and say something to the effect of "I almost forgot who I was talking to, nevermind."

Don't feel "challenged," pop culture grows and changes every day. It took me two months to figure out who Hannah Montana was, so I know that it's a fairly common thing to get wrapped up in the multitude of pop culture. Internet memes and news related humor are something I'm up to date on simply because I'm a geek.
