Wowza, The panjo that i saw was made by pee wee. Pickles, The panjo is a very instrument to play. The tuning arrangement is such that you strum across all the strings, but you only play the melody on one. It is self harmonizing.
You need a bed pan like this:

Sassy, the TnT Road Show I saw was last year.
Scruffy, the panjo I played was only difficult insomuch as it requred a great deal of finger strength on the fret to get the right note. That may be attributable to Pee Wee's choice of strings, or my lack of ability as a player. He did say that fingers would callus, or you could use a thimble to make it easier.

Ah, Scruffy... If I tried to play this thing I can almost gaurantee it wouldn't make music. I like the idea though.

Wowza, The one I saw had everything to do with the action being too high, and the nut being in the wrong place.

Scruffy, you say that this instrument is easy to play, but you are a musician, right? I would need to have somebody teach me how to play it. And I have this feeling that bedpan guitar instructors are not easy to come by. Any suggestions?
Do you have a photo of one that you could post?

Would several clowns all playing panjos be considered pandemony, um?
And filing out the string-a-long section of the band could be a couple of (Google it) Stumpf Fiddles.
Ah-one! Ahh-choo!

Pickles, Mountain dulcimer music would be the same thing. Finito. I can make you a stumpf fiddle too. But it would be comparable to purchasing one.
If you try to make one, a good shovel handle or a piece of oak handrail makes a great starting place.
I guess I will have to build one now.....can't start till monday at the earliest.
Cheers,
Scruffy
