So if I found a mountain dulcimer instructional video (or instructor), that would work?

And what type of bedpan would you recommend? There is a lot of variation in the different metal bedpans.

Pickles, You would have to do some adaptation for the dulcimer. Namely, on a mountain dulcimer, the thing lays on your lap with the "melody string' closest to you. on a panjo, it would in the position on your first,or high E string. Closest to the floor that is.....

As far as the bedpan goes, you need a steel, porcelain or enamel coated one. The one without the "Horn" on it.

Scruffy, thank you so much for providing the lovely bedpan photograph. Now I am starting to visualize this fine musical instrument.

I'm still having my doubts about being able to play it though.

Scruff, you are my hero (I think I've told you that before). My hat's off to you,,,,You ROCK!

Pickles, you may consider branching out to a baritone Ukulele which is tuned same as a guitar GDBE and is the top/bottom 4 strings of a guitar depending on how you look at it. They're EZ to play and EZ to pack around, I rarely leave home without mine.

Another alternative would be a Cigar Box Guitar/Ukulele. I got one from Papas Boxes and it's way COOL!!! Perfect for any Hobo Clown.

Default I want one!

I am just now jumping on this thread, but I remember Scruffy talking about it during the chat. BTW, if you are missing the chats, you're missing a hillarious laugh therapy session! What a hoot! Anyway, I would love to have one of these "Panjo"s as a think it would help me get into the hospital scene a little more comfortably. I loved Pickles lines of pee soup and sweet pees. I really don't care if I could play it or not, that would be part of my schtick: Everytime I try, it sounds like poo. Anyway, just a few visual music lines (place your finger here and strum) would be enough to run a good site gag. But don't teach me too much, I might get the runs. Oh I know! That line stunk! There's just so much that could go with this just because of it being visually appropriate for certain settings.

And Scruffy, just because I'm always business minded...ooooh! Such possibilities here!

-Keep having fun, Baby!

I'm gonna make a little music on the bedpan......An organ recital?

I found a piece of maple to start making the neck. Hopefully, tomorrow I'll get some more done on it.

That was better than using the alternative. Which would have had to do with a #2.

Scruff, I spent some time last weekend digging through junk at antique stores in search of the perfect bedpan for my guitar. I only found one, and it was pretty nasty. (looked like it even came with antique pee! Eeeeew.) It was also pretty corroded. I'm thinking that maybe I should be looking for a new metal bedpan, do ya think?
