Default Aaaar!

I am developing a new show, with a pirate theme. I will be doing this as a non-clown alternative character for kid shows, as pirates are hot stuff right now, and there are lots of magic routines and bits of kidshow business that lend themselves perfectly to this theme. Even balloon swords and parrots seem to fit in!
My repertoire of tricks and effects that I am planning on using are a commercially available torn-and-restored treasure map, a message in a bottle routine that I am writing, a coat-off-ropes (cords of fantasia) routine from way back and a wrist chopper.
Any routines, jokes, suggestions or caveats from members of this forum would be appreciated.

Are you going to the "world's end" looking for "pearls" of wisdom?
1) A google search on pirate joke's should yield a treasure chest full.
2) A good pirate story where you bring up a couple of assistants and dress them up as you go. In the end one of them could "walk the plank." (At Moose Camp Christopher Hudert took a narrow strip of foamboard and painted it to look like a plank and added an invisible dog leash.)

The chain letter is very funny. You could also add "Bladeless Knives without handles" to your novelty list. Just kidding, but that is a very funny prop you've got.

You should post a free ad in the closet section here and really promote your swag. In fact, everyone here should.

I went to a show like this when I was younger. We all went out on boats, and shot at a pirate on a motorized boat that rode alongside ours with souped-up water guns made out to look like cannons. The rest of the party was really corny (I was 8 and didn't even find the jokes funny or the script believable) but the whole cannon idea was great.
