Default Marionettes

Marionettes | Quality Marionette Puppets

Anyone ever see this site? The Marionettes are amazing and the attention to detail is just phenomenal. Even some of the really nice ones are reasonably priced, in terms of marionettes. Give it a look if you are looking for a companion to your show

Wow - some beautiful work. A little pricey, but still a great deal for something so well made. I guess if you're looking for something like this, then this is exactly what you're looking for.

Oh, swell, Princess.... I finally purged my head of that annoying little ditty, and now it's back. Thanks a lot.

Ahhhhhh a clown after my own heart!!! THAT performance from Sound of Music I'm sure had a HUGE impact on me as a child since I have turned towards a career in puppetry concentrating on marionettes. I am in the process right now of creating my own marionettes to do a performance mimicking the lonely goat herder song. I actually did this song as my final song choice in my vocal class in college. I am making my goats out of mops to give it that wooly feeling. I'm off for a month long trip in July but once I get back, I will be devoting to that project full time. At least I have the designs in place. It's the building of the marionettes that take a ton of my time.

Back to the topic of the Chech marionettes. I think these are wonderful instruments for any level of puppeteer. I have been a great fan of the website mentioned for quite some time. The quality of the marionettes offered are so wonderful for the price. Also, they offer wholesale pricing if you hold a seller's license.

Aloha,
Nikole

Yes, Nikole, but the problem with buying marionettes like that over the Internet...

Interesting project! Have you seen the originals at the MacNider Art Museum? Will the goats be able to wag their tails?

Oh of course they will have to have moving tails. That's the best part. I also will be having moving eyes which is something that I don't normally do with my marionettes but I'm up for the challenge. It just means more strings and more kinks in my fingers.

No, I have not seen the collection in person. I think that I would tear up if I ever did. I am almost finished with an elephant marionette for a show that I am doing at the end of the month that has a Bil Baird feel to it. I'll be sure to posts pictures if anyone is interested or at least have a preview of it on my youtube channel.

Aloha,
Nikole
