Default A cloudy day on Sesame Street

From Yahoo News:

POUGHKEEPSIE, N.Y. - Kermit Love, the costume designer who helped puppeteer Jim Henson create Big Bird and other "Sesame Street" characters, has died. He was 91.

This show was one of the earliest influences of puppets and clowning (of a sort) to myself, and likely many others.

I've not seen it in years, but still have a library of memories from it. Sad that Love followed Henson today, but 91 was a (relatively) long life. Puppeteers everywhere should mourn.

--------------------------------------------------

On a more positive note, I find it truly impressive that Big Bird and Osacr the grouch, have been played by the same person since episode 1 of Sesame Street to present. Hats off to Caroll Spinney...

Thanks for sharing. I enjoy Jim Henson's creations. I hadn't heard of Kermit Love, but I did like Big Bird.

Just for the curious, this is from Wikipedia, Despite the coincidence of names, Kermit Love first met Jim Henson after the 1955 creation and naming of the Muppet Kermit the Frog, which was named for Henson collaborator Kermit Scott.
